Whether you're packing yourself or hiring professionals, a smooth house move starts with good planning.

Follow this moving checklist to stay organized and stress-free:
1. Declutter Before You Pack
Reduce the load by getting rid of items you no longer need or use. Donate, sell, or responsibly dispose of anything that won’t be coming with you. A lighter load means less packing and potentially lower moving costs.

2. Get the Right Materials
Stock up on quality packing materials to protect your belongings during the move. Recommended items include:
Buy moving boxes (various sizes)
Strong packing tape
Bubble wrap or packing paper for fragile items
Mattress covers and sofa covers to protect furniture
Permanent markers for labeling

3. Label Everything Clearly
Label all boxes and furniture with their room destination and a brief list of contents. This will make unpacking at your new home faster and easier.

4. Set Aside Essentials
Pack a separate overnight bag or essentials box with everything you’ll need on moving day and the first night in your new home. Include items like:
Phone chargers
Toiletries
Baby supplies (if applicable)
Snacks and food
Important documents

5. Notify Services and Update Details
Make sure to:
Update your postal address
Transfer or cancel utility services (electricity, gas, internet, etc.)
Notify banks, subscriptions, and other important contacts of your address change
